
The aims of the St John’s Physical Education Programme is to promote a balanced and full curriculum of activities which help the pupils to face increasing challenges and to teach them skills which form the foundation of purposeful leisure time pursuits. It is important that pupils have a positive experience whether it is by way of the specific activity in P.E, or through individuals, groups or teams tasting success in a competitive environment.

All boys are expected to do their very best regardless of natural ability, and are encouraged to work hard to master new skills and movements. Boys at St. John’s also work at a level of difficulty that is suitable for them and will help them achieve goals and be successful.
Physical Education contributes to the overall education of the St. John’s pupils by helping them to lead full and active lives through engaging in purposeful physical activity. It can:
Physical Education at St. John’s covers a wide spectrum of activities:
Pre-Prep - Gymnastics, Games Skills, Ball Skills, Multi Skills, Agility, Balance and Coordination. SAQ, Tri-Golf, Athletics and weekly swimming lesson.
Years 3 and 4 - Gymnastics, Basketball, Hockey, Short Tennis, Health and Fitness, Tri-Golf, Track, SAQ, Track and Field Athletics and weekly swimming lesson.
Years 5 and 6 - Gymnastics, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball, Health and Fitness, SAQ, Track and Field Athletics.
