St. John's was founded in 1920 in Pinner. Fifty years later, the School moved to its present site. In 1984 St John's was acquired by the Merchant Taylors' Livery Company. We prepare boys for 13+ entry to senior schools, including Merchant Taylors' School, with whom our links are particularly strong.

Facing south, on a thirty five acre site, we have outstanding views over London. The School has exceptional facilities for Games and Physical Education. We are particularly fortunate to possess beautiful grounds. Our areas of woodland, grassland, ponds and natural habitat give our boys diverse opportunities for ecological and environmental study as well as outdoor education.

St John's achieves consistently excellent academic results. The majority of boys pass the competitive entrance examinations to Merchant Taylors' School. Some boys gain entry to other leading local independent day schools. A handful of our pupils go on to major boarding schools and academically selective grammar schools. In recent years, boys have achieved outstanding results in Merchant Taylors' Scholarship Examinations as well as a range of scholarships to other senior independent schools.

The School offers an enriched and creative curriculum. Sport, music and drama are particular strengths. This enables each boy to make the most of his talents so that he can grow in confidence and fulfil his potential. Boys develop an enthusiastic self-disciplined approach to work and life in our caring environment. We value our excellent working relationship with parents establishing a real partnership between home and school.

Our recent Independent Schools Inspection report, published in April 2010, praised the high quality of the all round education provided by St John's.
