The close of another St. John's Year
Team photos time

Here they are - an Under 9s team - in the middle of summer wearing rugby kit. There can only be one explanation - team photos. Done on the same Friday that the Sixth Form camp out was meant to happen, these started off being taken outside but halfway through rain forced them into the Gym.

Ordinary Jack

These two extremely colourful characters (Amar Mashru on the left and Vaughn Stein on the right) are rival kings in Ordinary Jack, performed by a cast drawn from the Third to Fifth forms (Yrs 5 to 8) in the second to last week of the term. This 'sort of fairy tale' was set in Dark Age Britain and tells the story of how a young prince's quest to win his true love's hand develops, in fact, into a quest for the Holy Grail.

Hippies from Olive

These three refugees from the sixties made an appearance in the Second Forms (Yr4) play, Olive, a reworking with a contemporary setting of a well-known story by Charles Dickens. Now, haven't they made another musical from that book...?

Tug of war at Sports Day

This year, for the first time, we had an Interhouse, Junior and Senior Tug of War to finish off Sports Day. It proved to be a lot of fun and a real crowd pleaser. So, hopefully, we will see it back again next year.

After prize giving

The last Saturday of term saw Sports Day in the afternoon but in the morning we have Prize Giving for the senior (third to sixth forms) end of the school. For the Sixth Form leavers, particularly, its a rather special occasion. Afterwards there is a lunch for the leavers and their parents in the Hall; and here they are, about to go in.
