First and second forms Sports Day.
Starting a sprint

Mrs Tivers has blown the whistle and they're off in the First Form 50m sprint. The first and second forms' sports afternoon was held straight after their Prize Giving on Tuesday, 30th June.

Second form skipping race

Most of the events are traditional primary school sports day events and demand skill as well as speed. This is the Second Form skipping race heading towards the finishing tape.

Touch and go!

In this First Form race, contestants had to touch a line and run back twice before sprinting to the finish. William Sadler of the Sixth Form keeps a beady eye out for line faults.

Three legged race

Another big favourite is always the three legged race - a real test of teamwork if ever there was one!

Waiting to start.

This First Form race is going to involve hoops and bean bags and speed and precision; so naturally they are deep in thought as they wait for the off. The Second Form sack racers behind them, however, seem to be treating their wait as a sleepover.

Sack race.

James Franks and Andrew Gold competing hard in the sack race. This is another quite technical event. Contestants have to hop; any running inside your sack results in disqualification.
The final events are the immensely exciting inter-class relays: 1R against 1T and 2R against 2W. Both were won narrowly but, as usual, I can't remember who by. Mrs Carstairs presented the medals, Mrs Eldridge and Mrs Taylor doled out cartons of drink to the contestants and then we all went home.
