St. John's Old Boys' Association

Over the years many parent and old boys have suggested that St John's should have an Old Boys Association. In March 2009 it was decided to set up this association.

Setting up the association has been a long task. We have had to go through the old school records and have written to over 1,000 ex-students of the school to obtain their current details and have been logging these down. Inevitably a number of boys have moved on and letters have been returned back marked unknown.

We have also obtained information by reference to Facebook. Finally, a number of boys who have responded have given address of their friends and we have written to them and have obtained their details as well.

All in all, we now have a list of over 500 old boys.

Having obtained the above information, it was decided to hold the first reunion of the old boys on the 13th June 2010. This was an informal occasion with the opportunity to enjoy a drink and something to eat with other former pupils. The school buildings and facilities were opened providing an opportunity to tour the school and grounds. Those attending the event had an opportunity to see how things have moved on since they were last at the school.
