At St John’s we believe in nurturing the potential of every pupil, helping them to grow in confidence, develop a love of learning and become compassionate leaders of tomorrow. With a focus on academic excellence, personal development and a strong sense of community, we provide the foundation for a lifetime of success.
This year`s House Music competition was a huge success with an incredible display of talent from all the boys in the Final. Every performance was outstanding, earning fantastic feedback from our adjudicator, Mr Simon Couldridge.
Congratulations to Churchill House, who took the win with their brilliant (and spooky!) rendition of Thriller, complete with impressive costumes and plenty of energy.
This much-loved event is always a highlight of the school calendar, bringing together pupils and staff for an afternoon full of music, creativity and fun.
Well done to everyone involved!

Year 1 time-travelled to the era of the Great Fire of London, exploring life in 1666 through hands-on activities like making scented bags, clay button moulds, bread rolls, candles, leather bookmarks and weaving. They also investigated historical artefacts to discover old jobs and types of houses.
The day brought history to life, helping the boys understand the lessons of the Great Fire and how it shaped the rebuilding of London.

What a fantastic Book Day 2026 at St John’s!
From the whimsical heights of Wonka’s elevator to “Cheese Touch” in the playground, the school was full of imagination, creativity and brilliant book-inspired props.
Mr Russo’s Year 6 English class led a wonderful Prep School assembly featuring quizzes, “guess the book” presentations and even a look at some of the teachers’ favourite reads. Our lead librarians also judged the finalists of the prop competition, and we all discovered a mix of exciting new titles and timeless classics.
Thank you to the boys, staff (and perhaps a few parents!) for making it such an enjoyable day. Keep reading!

The U11 Rugby A team had a fantastic workshop with Mr Perrotta yesterday, focusing on team building and goal setting. The session gave the boys a new insight into the importance of cohesion in sport, and they showed great teamwork and collaboration throughout. A valuable experience both on and off the field.
St John’s was pleased to welcome Channel 5 News today after a national announcement from the Department for Education on updated guidance to support children with allergies in schools.
We were invited to take part as we are already included on the Schools Allergy Register, which requires standards exceeding those set by the government in the new guidance. We continually review our procedures and practices to meet the needs of each pupil, working closely with families and supporting boys to manage their allergies more independently, within a structured framework, as they progress through the school.
Thank you Ruth Liptrot and the Channel 5 News team for giving us the opportunity to show how we support our pupils with allergies.

What an unforgettable experience for our U9 and U13 rugby players!
They had the incredible opportunity to play at StoneX Stadium, home of Saracens. From walking through the tunnel to stepping out onto the pitch, the boys experienced the full matchday atmosphere in world-class surroundings.
Above all, it was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and enjoyment, reflecting the spirit and values at the heart of school sport.
