School Fees & Bursaries

For the academic year 2025/2026, our fees are:

Each year the School Governors carefully review our financial forecast and the costs and financial commitments of St John’s. Fees are set at a level which allows us to meet our costs, and any increases reflect the minimum appropriate to operate and maintain St John’s at the highest possible standards of quality.

*EYFS Funding

St John’s participates in the 15 hours free Early Years Education Scheme. Under current guidelines, this funding is also applicable in Reception up until the term after your son turns 5.

We strongly recommend full time attendance at our Nursery as an appropriate preparation for our Reception class at St John’s, full time reception is also recommended for all boys (including those under 5) to ensure appropriate academic progression.

Fees are broken down as follows:

• First 15 hours per week for under 5’s (12pm-3pm):  £1,000 per term (free where eligible for 15 hours funding)
• Additional hours, specialist teaching and outdoor learning: Nursery £3,555 per term. Reception £5,275 per term.

Paying School Fees

Direct Debit is our preferred method of payment in which case the full fees for the term are collected on the first day that boys return to school.

You can download a Direct Debit mandate should you wish to pay by this method.

To ensure we are able to collect fees in this way please return your Direct Debit mandate to the School Finance Office no later than two weeks before the start of term.

Parents who are already using this method of payment do not need to complete new forms.​

Please note, the Direct Debit must be set up using the bank account of those who receive the invoice as we are unable to accept payments in the name of companies or other family members.

Fees in Advance Scheme

St John’s school offers a fees in advance (FIA) scheme for parents whose children are in the school, or who have accepted a place to start the at the school. The scheme offers a discount and is in place to provide a method where the cost of your child’s education at St John’s School can be reduced by making an advance lump sum payment.​​​​

Bursaries

Means tested bursaries are available however the school has limited funds available and priority is given to hardship bursaries to support pupils already attending the school.

In exceptional circumstances and for entry at year 3 and above bursaries may be awarded to children who have not yet joined the school.
