In the Pre-Prep, learning is about more than just academic success. It’s about happiness, fun, individuality, and inspiring a thirst for learning. From the earliest years, boys develop strong literacy and numeracy skills through stimulating, interactive lessons led by outstanding teachers.
Our cross curricular timetable connects subjects through engaging themes, helping boys build deep understanding, confidence, and collaboration. Creative thinking, resilience and curiosity are nurtured in every lesson, preparing our pupils for the challenges ahead.
Hands-on experiences, especially in maths and science, encourage boys to explore, experiment and develop their knowledge. Learning continues beyond the classroom, our beautiful grounds, outdoor classroom, and through exciting trips, including a residential trip in Year 2, bring learning to life.
From their first day at St John’s we teach kindness, whilst encouraging boys to try new things, risk take, build friendships, and express themselves. Boys step into a warm, welcoming community where well-being comes first. Each class is caring and inclusive, guided by a teacher and teaching assistant who ensures every child feels supported, safe, and valued.
